Every self respecting lavender farm needs to eventually invest in distillation equipment. And we did that last year!
We have harvested for bundles over the last 2 weeks and now that this chore is complete, we have begun to harvest for distilling into oil and hydrosol. It takes approximately 50 pounds of lavender to fill our 100 liter copper Alembic still and given how light lavender buds are, this is no small feat.
On Saturday, July 9th, we will offer the public a glimpse of our distillation process. Weather permitting, we will begin to distill in the morning and it usually takes about 3 hours or so start to finish. Our open hours are from 11-4 and we hope you can join us. We guarantee it will smell great!
